Economical Repair For Translucent Roofs and Metal Trailers |
 |
TC Roof Seal provides an easy, economical and permanent repair method for translucent materials and metal surfaces. Roof Seal can be used to seal leaking joints, seams, and cracks, preventing the migration of moisture. Translucent semi-trailer roofs are subjected to near-constant vibrations, often causing stress cracks in areas where pop-rivets are present. |
 |
This type of roofing material is vulnerable to mechanical damage, caused by forklifts, tree limbs, etc.
Semi-trailer leak repairs are often accomplished with either
1.) patching: with a sealant and riveting (labor intensive) or
2.) fiberglass repair kit: requiring mixing (sometimes), measuring, and possible long down time (messy). TC Roof Seal’s ease of application represents a significant improvement over labor intensive, costly, and often temporary repair methods. TC Roof Seal is a permanent, cost effective, UV resistant repair product. |

TC Roof Seal Membrane:
TC Roof Seal Membrane is for sealing joints and seams from migrating moisture. It is ideal for metal buildings, mobile homes, manufactured housing, travel trailers, utility trailers, and semi-trailers (prior to application of an approved external liquid sealant). TC Roof Seal is designed to expand and contract without any evidence of cracking (within normal ambient thermal temperatures) |

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
|
|
Composition
TC Roof Seal Membrane adhesive is manufactured from specially formulated elastomeric resins bonded to a woven polymer for maximum conformability. These materials are prefabricated to provide uniform thickness.
Technical Data
Total thickness: 30 mils (1 mm)
Adhesion: 9 lbs/in width
Low Temperature Flexibility: _" radius @ -30°F: No cracking
Pliability: No cracks in membrane
Permeance: .001 perms maximum
Elongation: >500%
Surface Preparation
Surface must be clean and dry. Moisture, dust, dirt, rust or other foreign matter should be removed by scraping or wire brushing. Remove oil and grease, etc. with suitable detergent. Remove salt and other contaminants by high pressure fresh water cleaning.
Application
Center TC Roof Seal Membrane over the seam removing the plastic release liner gradually to prevent contamination of the adhesive prior to application. This material may be applied to clean dry surfaces from -20°F to ambient. A top coat of TC-Roof Seal-Liquid Sealant White, Gray or Aluminum is necessary for UV protection. R/S Mastic White or Gray should not be applied below 50°F if temperatures will fall below 32°F within a 24 hour period after application.
TC Roof Seal Liquid Sealant
TC Roof Seal Mastic is a liquid sealant designed to protect TC Roof Seal membrane from harmful UV rays. This specially formulated product is made to contract and expand without cracking so as to maintain a water tight vapor barrier. TC Roof Seal Mastic can also be utilized as a stand alone top coat to protect concrete surfaces. Available in gray and white.
Composition
Sealant is a high solids acrylic elastomer coating system with superior weatherability, ultraviolet resistance, fire retardancy, elongation, flexibility and adhesion.
Technical Data
Colors: White or Gray
Application Temperature: 40°F to 120°F
Film Thickness: 20 mils wet, 12 mils dry
Drying Time at 70°F: To touch, 2 hours
Chemical Resistance: Resistant to solutions of acids, alkaline and salts
Application
Thoroughly mix the contents for a minimum of 5 minutes prior to application.
Method of application: Brush/Spray/Roller.
Clean-up with water.
Coverage: 70 square feet per gallon
Apply directly over Tapecoat Roof Seal Membrane.
Weather Precautions
TC Roof Seal Liquid Sealant requires complete evaporation of water to cure. Cool temperatures and high humidity retard cure. Do not apply if weather conditions will not permit complete cure before rain, dew or freezing temperatures occur. TC Roof Seal Liquid Sealant will freeze and become unusable at temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
Availability
Available from stock in 1, 5 and 55 gallon containers. Net weight per gallon approximately 9 lbs.
TC Aluminum Mastic
TC Aluminum Mastic as an oil based liquid sealant designed to protect TC Roof Seal Membrane from harmful UV rays. Ideal for aluminum trailers where esthetics are important. TC Aluminum Mastic is a non-breathing vapor and weather barrier which can also be utilized as a stand alone top coat for protecting concrete surfaces in harsh environments.
