What it is:
ROYSTON ROYBOND 747 is an elastomer-resin based formulation used as a corrosion resistant adhesive for adhering Royston Greenline Accessory Wrap to both metallic and non-metallic surfaces for underground service.
What it does:
ROYSTON ROYBOND 747 provides a strong bond between Greenline Wrap and all of the various surfaces commonly encountered in underground service. Its high degree of corrosion resistance enhances salt crock performance and maintains excellent adhesion under adverse environmental conditions. Its heavy consistency retards settling in the container yet allows easy brush-our for thin film coverage.

Where to use it:
ROYSTON ROYBOND 747 should be used to adhere Greenline Accessory Wrap to the following substrates commonly used underground:
- Steel and galvanized metal
- Extruded polyethylene and polypropylene
- Coal tar and asphalt enamels - Micro crystalline wax
- Thermoplastic and thermoset thin film coatings - Laminated and extruded pipe wraps

ROYBOND 747 is formulated for bonding Royston Greenline Wrap. Its suitability with other tapes and wraps should be tested prior to use.

How to use it:
Mixing:
Roybond 747 settles very slightly on standing. If there is an accumulation of solvent at the top of the container, stir lightly to reach a smooth, creamy consistency.

Surface Preparation:
Surfaces should be dry and cleaned of all rust, scale, soil, mud, oil, grease and other contaminants by wire brushing, blasting or other methods. Mil applied coatings and pipe wraps should be dry and free from mud, soil, dust and oil.

Application:
Roybond 747 may be applied by brush or roller without thinning. It must be brushed out to a thin film not more that 1 1/2 mils dry thickness. DO NOT APPLY TOO THICK. Roybond 747 will brush out readily to the desired thin film.

Application Temperature:
Pipe heated by welding should be allowed to cool to 120˚ to 140˚F before applying Roybond 747. Application may be made at temperatures below 0˚F, but condensation of moisture must be guarded against at low temperatures.

Drying Time:
For rapid bond development Roybond 747 should be allowed to dry to a non-glossy appearance before applying Greenline. This will require only one to five minutes depending on variable application conditions Bond development over semi-dried Roybond 747 is delayed somewhat, and over wet Roybond 747 is delayed as much as 24 hours.

Coverage:
Coverage of Roybond 747 on metal surfaces is 300 to 400 square feet per gallon at 1 to 1 1/2 mil dry film thickness. Allowances must be made for rough surfaces and application losses which will reduce coverage. One gallon of Roybond 747 to three squares of Greenline is a good rule of thumb.
